We also offer conscious sedation for those patients who are particularly anxious or nervous about their visit. Patients remain awake but are calm and relaxed enough to remain still and tolerant while their dentist performs whatever treatment is required. Conscious sedation is also a valuable option for patients who have physical or cognitive impairments that make it difficult or unsafe for them to undergo dental treatments. For example, if they are unable to sit still, hold their mouth open or follow instructions.
